What are pesticides? What do you need to approve the registration of pesticides in Mexico?

Pesticides or biosides are types of chemical compounds intended to repel, destroy or prevent any undesirable species of plants or animals.
They are used during the production, storage, transportation and distribution stages of food of agricultural origin, whether it is food for humans or animals.
Pesticidal substances are used to combat the most frequent pests of plant food species, such as insects, fungi, bacteria, mollusks, small mammals, birds and even other plant species.
Pesticides for agricultural use are useful inputs for the prevention and control of agricultural pests for the benefit of the country's agriculture and their application has direct and indirect toxic effects on human health and the environment.
In Mexico, the pesticide registry requires three opinions in order to authorize a pesticide for agricultural use, ensuring that:
- Comply with the characteristics of the use pattern (crop, pest, dosage, number and intervals of application for which they were created.
- Meet human health risk mitigation standards.
- Meet environmental risk mitigation standards.
Therefore, at QSAR Analytics we understand the importance of complying with the required studies when registering a technical product (pesticide), which is why to date we have a perfect record in registrations obtained.
- Toxicological risk analysis by (Q)SAR studies
- Calculation of Annex J and H
